About the Site
The Greenwich Village Digital Archive highlights items in New York City archives located by students in New York University's graduate program in Archives and Public History. As part of the Creating Digital History course, students conduct research on a topic in Greenwich Village's past, gathering primary source materials and creating a digital exhibit. Students also blog about their experiences researching their topics at Researching Greenwich Village History.
We would like to thank all the archives, libraries and museums who have granted permission to include items in their collections in our digital archive. Particular thanks go to Nancy Cricco (NYU University Archives), Thomas Lannon (New York Public Library Manuscripts and Archives Division), Michael Nash (Tamiment Archive and Robert Wagner Library), and Sheryl Woodruff (Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation).
