Stephen Dixon
Mr. Stephen Dixon, age 61 of Springfield Gardens, Queens, served the Department of Sanitation for 19 years. He worked in the Bureau of Cleaning and Collection in Far Rockaway. Sanitation commissioner John J. Doherty, said “Sanitation Worker Dixon represented the best of this department and was one of thousands of dedicated men and women who do a very difficult but essential job of keeping New York clean and safe each and every day.” Mr. Dixon passed away from a heart attack while he was at work in the Bureau and he was given a full honors funeral attended by both Mayor Bloomberg and the Sanitation Commissioner.
